Michael Murphy says Jim McGuinness’ departure ‘hit him hard’

Michael MurphyDonegal captain Michael Murphy has admitted that Jim McGuinness’ departure as county manager hit him hard.
He told the Belfast Telegraph: “It was a shock. We got a couple of shocks in the space of a couple of weeks,” said the 25-year-old Glenswilly man.
“He has since come out and said that it was a choice that was calculated beforehand. He said he would stay for four years and he put absolutely everything into it. It maybe made the break that bit cleaner and that bit easier.”
Murphy also admitted they had talked things over before he left, but he was unable to alter McGuinness’ mind.
