Best remains Ireland’s main concern ahead of South African clash

Rory Best IrelandRory Best remains the main injury concern for Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt ahead of this Saturday’s November International against South Africa.
The Ulster captain didn’t train with the rest of the squad today as he continues his recovery from a calf strain.
Assistant coach Les Kiss says that they expect to make a decision by Thursday morning as to whether or not the hooker will be fit enough to face the Sprinboks.
Meanwhile, South Africa appear to have given-up hope of Ruan Pienaar being able to take any part in their Northern Hemisphere tour.
The Ulster scrum-half was at training today, but he took no part in the work-out and he’s now been ruled-out of the tour because of a knee ligament injury.
Jano Vermaak of Toulouse has now been called-up to the Springboks panel.
