Action bridge claims a footbridge at Cockhill would be better than traffic lights

The Cockhill Bridge Action Group in Buncrana is calling on Donegal County Council to reconsider a proposal to erect temporary traffic lights at the bridge at a cost of over 80,000 euro.
The long term goal is for a replacement bridge, and in the meantime, the council is planning to erect traffic lights while seeking a meeting with the Transport Minister to discuss long term funding.
However, the Action Group’s Chairperson Tony Grant told Greg Hughes on today’s Shaun Doherty Show that a pedestrian footbridge would make more sense economically, and also from a road safety point of view…………..
