Protest against Irish Water held outside Donegal Co Council

waterprotestIrish Water’s offer to each councillor for a ten minute meeting in Lifford today has been described as an insult.
Fianna Fail, government parties and some independents met with the company but Sinn Fein and a number of independents did not.
Irish Water would noly meet with Cllrs individually in private, and wouldn’t hold a public meeting in the chamber.
Councillor Jack Murray explained why his Sinn Fein party refused the meeting:

Meanwhile up to 80 people from Cant Pay Wont Pay and the Right2Water campaign turned out for a protest outside the County House in Lifford this morning.
