It’s emerged that a whale which was buried on Magheraroarty Beach on Friday evening last has partially resurfaced again, leading a Donegal member of the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group to question Donegal County Council’s policy for disposing of such carcasses.
Gareth Doherty says it appears that gases within the carcass have caused it to expand, and he believes that played a key role in bringing the whale back to the surface.
