Defeat in New York for O’Kane

Derry’s Eamon O’Kane lost out in the IBF world title eliminator on Saturday night in New York.
At the world famous Madison Square Garden,  Tureano Johnson of the Bahamas twice knocked down  O’Kane in the first round en route to a unanimous-decision triumph.
O’Kane can hold his head high after going the 12 round distance following a horrific start.
Scores were 118-108, 117-109, 119-107 for Johnson, now 19-1 with 13 KOs; O’Kane falls to 17-2-1 with five stops.
