New figures show An Garda Siochana took in €1.8 million for policing private events in the first six months of this year.
There have been concerns the cost of policing small, local charities and festivals is too high.
It has been claimed in County Donegal, a charity had to foot the bill of 4 thousand euro for the Gardai to police their event.
Donegal Deputy Padraig MacLochlainn, who first raised this issue last June, says local festivals and small charities are already struggling with funding and it’s not in the public interest for them to be charged for such services……..
