Police appeal for information following attempted robbery in Limavady

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery of a shop in the Irish Green Street area of Limavady yesterday morning. 
Shortly before 8am it was reported that a masked male entered the premises and threatened staff intimating he was carrying a firearm.
The member of staff raised the alarm and the man made off empty handed. A man was arrested a short time later. He has been interviewed and released on Police bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Cathy Thompson is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that could assist with the investigation to contact Detectives in Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101. Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
