2016 Ballyliffen Coastal Challenge launched

The annual Ballyliffin Coastal Challenge will take place on Easter Saturday March 26th 2016.
The event which is regarded as one of the the most scenic in Ireland has added a 7 mile option this year.
The challenge will have the same start point in the village and finish point on the beach but the 7 mile option requires a diversion along the route at the Isle Of Doagh.
Local event directors Des Kemmy, Michael Mc Laughlin and Susan Mc Gonagle have targetted 1000 participants this year.
Local Councillor Martin Mc Dermott underlined, “Occassions and events such as this are a very positive addition to the opportunities available to tourists and locals alike and highlight the beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way and more particularly the beauty of this immediate area . Throw in two world class golf courses and the Famine Village and you immediately have a family package”.
The childrens races on the beach which proved such good fun previously will be repeated and entry is free .
The challenge entry fee is 25euro / Students 10euro, with a goody bag, tech t-shirt and medallion for each participant.
