An East Derry MLA says he believes an independent inquiry into the death of a fireman in Limavady over 12 years ago is now inevitable.
Joe McCloskey fell to his death when responding to a hotel fire in Limavady, and last week, the Attorney General in the North named the superior fire officer who ordered him onto the roof which subsequently collapsed.
John Dallat has told the assembly that the individual named in the Attorney General’s Report is the same person named to him by a retired police officer last week.
Mr Dallat says he believes a cover-up took place, and that needs to be examined……..
