Kris Meeke sits top of the leaderboard at Rally Monte Carlo after Thursday evenings opening stages.
The DS 3 Citroën of the Co Tyrone driver and co-driver Paul Nagle lead the Volkswagen of defending World Champion Sebastian Ogier by 6.9 seconds as the 2016 season gets up and running in cold conditions.
Ogier won the first stage by 4.1 seconds but Meeke took 11 seconds out of the Frenchman on stage two to take the overall lead.
Meeke’s only WRC victory came last year at Rally Argentina.
The crews will tackle six more stages on Friday.
