Donegal and Mayo played out a draw after extra time in the North West Cup Final at the Sligo Centre of Excellence.
Mayo looked to have the game tied up minutes from the end but Declan Bonner’s side forced extra time with a late goal from Hugh Boyle and a point from John Campbell to leave it 1-7 apiece at full time.
Points from Campbell and Daniel Gallagher seen Donegal hit the front for the first time in the game to lead by two at half time in extra time.
Mayo responded however in the second half as the tie ended 1-9 to 1-9.
Donegal refused to play another period of extra time due to the fading light but a decision on a replay or cup sharing will be made later.
Tom Comack got the reaction of Donegal manager Declan Bonner after the game.
