MEP asks if supertrawlers are responsible for increase in dolphin deaths

Ireland South MEP Liadh Ni Riada is calling on the EU to do something about the increase in dolphin deaths and strandings off the Irish coast.
Her demands come after the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group revealed that so far in 2016 there were 28 dolphin strandings off the Atlantic coast. Last weekend, a dead white beaked dolphin was washed up on Killahoey Beach in Dunfanaghey.
Ms Ni Riada says she believes the dolphin deaths could be linked to the actions of supertrawlers fishing off the west and north west coast……………
