Donegal man remanded in custody charged with dangerous driving and unauthorized taking of a vehicle

A County Donegal man has been remanded in custody after he was charged with dangerous driving and the unauthorized taking of a vehicle, at Sligo District Court.
39-year-old Jonathan Ayton, The Close, Raphoe County Donegal is charged with entering a building known as the residence of Sean Rodgers at Fintra Road to commit a theft on April 13.
The defendant was also charged with dangerous driving at Milltown Inver and at Meenbog Ballybofey on the same date.
And he was further charged with taking a vehicle without the consent of owner Ann Rodgers at Fintra Road, Killybegs, on a similar date.
A garda gave evidence of arresting the defendant at Meenbog, Ballybofey at 3.40 am this morning.
The defendant was subsequently charged at Ballyshannon garda station at 7.50 am.
He made no reply to the charges.
A solicitor for the defendant said there would be no application for bail.
The defendant was remanded in custody to Harristown on April 22 for mention.
