Eamon Mc Conigley looks at Senior Cup battle with Athlone and the future of the USL

Ulster Senior League side Letterkenny Rovers are back in cup action this evening when they take on Athlone Town in the FAI Senior Cup.
Rovers head into the game off the back of last Saturday’s 5-0 defeat to Crumlin Utd in the Intermediate Cup Final at the Aviva Stadium.
It was a special journey for the club to get so far in the competition, something that may not happen again if the Ulster Senior League is disbanded and drops to junior football.
The idea of that happening was rasied once again this week as the future of the league continues to be a concern.
Rovers Manager Eamon McConigley says that all parties have to work together to save the status of football in the county.
