Traffic delays possible with parades taking place in Derry and Tyrone

A number of parades are taking place across the Derry and Strabane district over the next two days, with the PSNI urging drivers to allow extra time for journeys and where possible, take alternative routes.

This morning, a parade is scheduled to start at 11 o’clock at Rossdowney Park in the Waterside, with the route taking participants into the city-side via Craigavon Bridge to Society Street. That is due to end at midday.

This evening, a parade will be held in Castlederg, starting at 8pm and finishing at 11:30pm. The route is from Albert Street Car Park, along Lower Strabane Road, Lower Main Street, Upper Main Street, John Street, towards High Street, Young Crescent, Upper Strabane Road, The Diamond, Lower Main Street, McCay Court and Albert Street Car Park.

Tomorrow, there will be a parade in Strabane, leaving from John Wesley Street, heading along Railway Street to Abercorn Square, then along Market Street, Main Street, Townsend Street to Strabane Cemetery.

The return route is from 4.30pm to 5pm towards John Wesley Street along Main Street, Abercorn Square and Railway Street.
