Harps go down in Cork as Wexford close the gap

Finn Harps lost 2-0 to Cork City in difficult conditions at Turners Cross on Friday night.
The battle to stay up took another twist as Wexford Youths beat Galway United 5-4 at Ferrycarraig Park  to close the gap on Harps to six points with a game in hand.
Wexford almost blew it as they lead 5-0 after 52 minutes.
Harps must go to Wexford next Friday night in a cruch game which could seal their place in the top flight for another season.
In tonight’s game at Cork, the breakthrough came two minutes before half time as Cork hit the front with a Kevin O’Connor goal.
Just before the hour mark Stephen Dooley scored the home sides second.
With Dundalk beating Shamrock Rovers 3-0, Cork remain four points adrift of the league leaders.
