Two people rescued from stricken yacht at St Johns Point

 

Two people have been rescued from a yacht which went aground on rocks at St Johns Point in the early hours of this morning.
Killybegs Coastguard say they were tasked at 4.11am this morning to the yacht, but poor sea conditions prevented rescue via boat. A rescue attempt via ropes from cliff top also had to be abandoned.
Thje Sligo based Rescue 118 helicopter recovered both casualties from the yacht and brought them to safety.
