5000 people in Derry could lose vote

Concerns have been raised in Derry as Sinn Fein Councillor Elisha McCallion says over 5000 people in the Foyle constituency could lose their vote.
The former mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council has said that there is real concern in the city and district after it was revealed that the Electoral Office is carrying out a review of the live electoral register across the North.

The former mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council has said that there is real concern in the city and district after it was revealed that the Electoral Office is carrying out a review of the live electoral register across the North.
Councillor McCallion says that people are only too aware of the struggle and sacrifice made down the years by the ordinary man and woman to win the right to vote. Particularly in Derry, we are only too aware of what it has meant to be denied the right to vote.
The former mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council added that there are very real possibilities that many people in the city will be disenfranchised she is urging everyone in Derry to complete forms sent out from the Electoral Office and return them at their earliest convenience.
