Tyrone Senior Championship Football playoff result: Urney 1-10 v 0-09 Eglish
Tyrone club Urney are back in senior football for the first time in nearly 20 years.
Their victory in Eskra on Sunday against Eglish propelled them up into the top division, a place they have not been in since 1997.
A fisted goal by Urney’s Ronan Lafferty on 56 minutes secured the historic win for Urney St Columba’s, which is located in Clady within the Parish of Urney.
Lafferty’s matchwinning goal made the score Urney 1-10 v 0-8 Eglish and it was enough to guarantee the win that also relegates Eglish.
GAA reporter Francis Mooney had this match report for Sunday Sport…
