Stapleton the difference between Ireland and France


Nora Stapleton kicked off Ireland’s scoring today as they defeated France in the Women’s Six Nations.
The score came from a penalty ten minutes into the game and was the difference between the side’s for the remainder of the first half.
Early into the second half it was the French side that took the lead with a try from Caroline Ladangnous.
Ten minutes late Leah Lyon responded for Ireland running in a try and Stapleton was at hand to send the conversion between the posts.
Stapleton then sent Ireland further ahead converting a penalty with 65 minutes played.
A nervy finish was in store when France responded to with their own penalty to make it a three point game going into the closing stages.
But the ladies were able to hold out to register their third victory of the tournament.
