Hospital consultants are calling for significant investment to tackle waiting lists.
The annual conference of the Irish Hospital Consultants Association is taking place in Limerick today.
It comes the day after new figures showed nearly 678 thousand people are now on hospital waiting lists.
Among the speakers is Health Minister Simon Harris.
