LYIT soccer sides off to solid league starts

The LYIT men’s and women’s soccer teams started their Colleges and Universities league campaigns today with both playing in Dundalk against DKIT.
The ladies have started the season in impressive fashion with a 12-0 hammering  of the opposition at the DKIT college grounds.
Lauren Cregan, Vanessa McHugh, Zoe Green, Amy Boyd, Aishleen McGuinness, and Amanda Callaghan were all on the score sheet.
The men’s played their game at Oriel Park and headed back north with a valuable point drawing 0-0 in the Division 1 North tie.
There was good performances from Fergal Harkin, Shane Porter, Ordhan McMacken and Gareth Doherty.
The men’s team are away next week again when they travel to Maynooth.
