The Killybegs Fishermen’s Organisation says its members are disappointed but not surprised by the outcome of this week’s mackerel Coastal States negotiations in London.
It was announced yesterday that while Killybegs fishermen will receive 87% of the overall mackerel quota, it will result in a loss of €17 million to the sector.
While there is disappointment among the fishermen in Killybegs, KFO CEO, Séan Ó’Donoghue says the announcement was expected after a number of issues arising over mackerel assessment…………
