It was a game of tight margins at the Bishop Field Leisure Centre where LYIT Basketball lost out by a single field goal to Keane’s Supervalu Killorglin, 84 v 82.
LYIT led at the end of the first quarter, but Killorglin brough it back to leave the scores level at half-time, 42 v 42.
The end of the third quarter saw Killorglin with a 7 point lead, and while LYIT fought back, they couldn’t conquer the unbeaten Killorglin.
LYIT head coach Niall McDermott said “Really tough loss playing against an excellent undefeated team in Keanes SuperValu Kilorglin.
We played really well for the majority of game but a few simple errors cost us big in such a close game.
Their size was the difference in the end and missing our captain Mark Cannon didn’t help but a lot of positives going into next week’s double header weekend.”
