Donegal County Council is to request a meeting with the General Manger of Letterkenny University Hospital, the Head of the National Ambulance Service and the Regional Chief Fire Officer to discuss issues facing the hospital.
High on the agenda will be the ongoing overcrowding situation in its Emergency Department while the issue of poor ambulance response times in some parts of the county would also be discussed.
Cllr. Seamus O’Domhnaill says serious questions need to be answered as to how these problems are going to be tackled as in the interim, peoples lives are effectively being put at risk:
