The Transport Minister has repeated his claim that restrictions on free travel passes would only happen over his dead body.
It’s after senior civil servant Robert Watt suggested that older people should not be allowed to use their passes on public transport during rush hour.
According to the Irish Independent, a private meeting of Fine Gael TDs last night heard calls for him to step down.
Minister Shane Ross says Watt knows that he overstepped the mark but he shouldn’t resign…………
