
The Principal of Brownknowe National School is urging Irish Water to call an immediate public consultation on plans by Irish Water to build a new sewage treatment plant in the vicinity of the school.
Irish Water says that while a preferred site was selected, the exact location has not yet been finalised. Indications are that Compulsory Purchase Order documents may be ready by the end of this year, with a planning application being submitted next year.
Once the plans are in place, Irish Water say they will consult locally.
However, Brownknowe School principal Sarah Martin says consultation must happen immediately.
She says so far, there ‘s been no contact at all………
