The hosepipe ban has been lifted in the North West, but extended in other 16 counties until Sunday the 30th of September.
Irish Water says it’s necessary to conserve water supplies, as levels in rivers lakes and ground sources remain lower than normal.
From this coming Friday, the ban will be lifted for 10 counties, including Donegal, Leitrim, and Sligo, as a result of increased rainfall.
However, Eamon Gallen of Irish Water says the ban must be maintained elsewhere for at least another month………….
