Republic of Ireland winger James McClean has criticised Declan Rice for ‘deliberating’ over whether he wants to play international football for England or Ireland.
West Ham teenager Rice has been left out of the Ireland squad for the upcoming games against Wales and Poland with manager Martin O’Neill saying he’s taking time to ponder his international future after contact from England.
McCLean says it should be an ‘honour and a proud moment’ to represent your country while agreeing with the view, players that need time to think about their allegiance shouldn’t be selected for the national team.
