Government policy is against rural Ireland – McGarvey


The Cathaoirleach of the Letterkenny Municipal District believes there is a deliberate Government policy against rural Ireland that is forcing people to settle in urban centres.
Councillor Ian McGarvey says while there is said to be an onus on keeping rural communities alive, the closure of post offices and garda stations in rural parts of the county is having an affect on the population.
He says a more positive approach to rural Ireland is needed:
