Finn Harps Underage Previews

Daryl Porter Harps U15s

It’s another busy weekend for the underage teams at Finn Harps F.C. The U15s after recording a crucial 4-1 win over Limerick F. C. at the Curragh last weekend have made the long journey south to meet the same opposition at the Markets Field this evening (kick-off 5pm). Tomorrow Declan Boyle’s U17s head to Dublin with St. Pat’s also providing the opposition (kick-off 2.00).
Last Saturday Daryl Porter and Jamie McDaid both scored twice as the U15s defeated Limerick F.C. 4-1 in Killygordon. It meant that Kevin McHugh’s boys maintained their solid start to the Final 8 phase of the National League having previously drawn with Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians. So McHugh will now be hoping to make it back-to-back victories against the Munster outfit at the Markets Field (kick-off 5.00)
The Finn Harps U17s are not in action until tomorrow when they travel to Dublin to take on St. Patrick’s Athletic (kick-off 2.00). At Finn Park last Saturday the Harps U17s moved on from their historic Mark Farren Cup triumph with a 4-2 over Dundalk. Conor Black, Ronan Gallagher, Jack Doherty and Luke Rudden were the goal scorers. The result keeps Declan Boyle’s men in second place in the Northern Elite Section of the National League having already secured their play-off place in the knockout stages of the competition. Pat’s are just a place below them in the table so it should be another good test for the visitors.
