It’s been claimed that residents and businesses on the High Road in Letterkenny can’t open their windows at certain times due to a high frequency of dust in the air.
The issue is said to centre from a site located on the road which is being used by Irish Water for storing equipment.
It’s understood that the utility has been asked on several occasions to clean the road but it continues to be a daily problem.
Cllr Jimmy Kavanagh says the situation is also causing a nuisance for the local fire service and it needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency:
