The Department of Education says any decision to close schools will be made on public health advice.
Trinity College has announced that all lectures at its Dublin campus will go online for the rest of the semester as of tomorrow.
However, Minister Joe McHugh told Highland Radio News that while he is closely monitoring the situation, the final decision to introduce any significant measures in schools he says, will be in the hands of the Chief Medical Officer:
