An investigation has been launched into an early morning assault in Letterkenny.
The incident happened shortly after midnight at Fairgreen Park.
The female victim sustained serious head injuries as a result of the attack and was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment.
Gardai believe that a number of implements were used in what’s been described as a sustained assault.
A man is currently in custody in relation to the incident.
Meanwhile Gardai have confirmed that the incident initially began outside the premises with two men also sustaining injuries.
There was also significant damage caused to a front door panel as a result of the attack.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses – anyone with information is being urged to contact then at Letterkenny Garda Station.
