Donegal County Council is being urged to include a sum of money in next year’s budget to progress plans for a promenade in Downings.
The issue is to be raised at a Letterkenny Milford Municipal District meeting this afternoon by Cllr John O’Donnell, who says between €20,000 and €25,000 is needed to make a foreshore licence application in the next twelve months.
He says a local committee made a previous funding application, but it failed, partly because there wasn’t sufficient input from the council.
Cllr O’Donnell says a prom would serve the tourism sector, but also help people with disabilities……….
