The Donegal Municipal District has heard renewed calls for the area of Donegal Bay, consisting of towns such as Bundoran, Ballyshannon, Donegal Town and Killybegs, to be designated as a “Blueway” for tourists.
Councillor Niamh Kennedy believes the facilities, resources and activities are already in place to market the Bay as a whole as a tourism destination, along with the Wild Atlantic Way.
Cllr Kennedy says promoting the Donegal Bay as a Blueway should be a “no-brainer”:
