Mark English failed in his attempt to progress at the European Indoor Championship in Belgrade.
The Finn Valley man who has just returned from Covid ran his 800m heat in 1:51.35 to finish 5th.
English will be back on track again on Sunday with the Irish 4x400m relay team.
