Over 5 thousand census enumerators are beginning the process of gathering up the forms that will shape Irish policy for the future.
2 million forms were sent out nationwide in an effort to capture the current state of Irish life in 2022.
There is a legal obligation on all citizens to ensure that their details were recorded correctly by 7 o’clock this morning.
The census will help inform government bodies on how to deliver public services across the State.
