UK postpones tighter controls on EU imports

Extra checks on imports going from the European Union to the UK are being postponed.

The British government says it would be wrong to go ahead with them this year and risk more disruption at ports.

Chilled meats as well as plant and animal produce were due to face tougher checks from July.

Ministers say new border controls will instead come before the end of 2023.
