Two arrested in Donegal human trafficking investigation

Two people have been arrested in Donegal as part of an ongoing targeting organised crime, human trafficking, organised prostitution and money laundering.

Gardaí from the Human Trafficking Investigation and Coordination Unit at the Garda National Protective Services Bureau carried out an operation in Letterkenny on Monday.

A man in his 40s arrested under organised crime legislation has appeared before Falcarragh District Court this morning, charged with an offence under the Illegal Immigrants (Trafficking) Act.

A further arrest took place this morning with the person remaining in Garda Custody.

Investigations continue and Gardai are appealing to anyone who has been the victim of Human Trafficking to contact the Garda National Protective Services Bureau, the Garda Confidential Line or any Garda station, where they say they will be treated with the utmost sensitivity.
