A poll by Red C for The Journal found that most people would like to see a mask mandate reintroduced in public places.
This follows a rise in the number of people in hospital due to Covid with the level surpassing 1,000 patients on three seperate occasions this week.
It was found that 79% of people would like to see masks mandatory in public settings like public transport, while 72% were in favour of the move in healthcare facilities.
