State now housing 50,000 refugees – Minister O’Gorman

45,000 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Ireland since the beginning of Russia’s invasion.

This comes as refugees continue to be moved out of college accommodation this week, with 2,000 already moved to alternative locations to allow this year’s students move in.

3,700 Ukrainian refugees are living in pledged accommodation, which is 10 percent of all Ukrainians housed by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration & Youth.

Minister Roderic O’Gorman says the Irish Government now provides accommodation for 50,000 refugees and asylum seekers:
