164 new dwellings granted planning permission in Donegal

164 dwellings were granted planning permission in Donegal in the second quarter of the year.

Between April and June, 161 houses were given the go ahead along with 3 apartments.

According to figures released by  CSO, a total of 348 building projects were granted planning permission during April to June of 2022.

In Donegal, 160 new homes were granted planning permission with 83 other construction projects approved.

78 extensions were approved while 27 alterations and conversions were also granted approval by the Council.

In the second quarter of 2022, the Border Region (Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Monaghan, and Cavan) recorded the lowest number of apartments granted planning permission at 26.

Nationally, the number of dwelling units granted planning permission in Quarter 2 2022 was 11,374.

Of this, 39.8% (4,532) were for houses and 60.2% (6,842) were for apartments.
