The cost of rebuilding a house in the north-west has increased by 26% in the past year.
According to latest figures from the Society of Chartered Surveyors of Ireland, to rebuild an average sized 3 bed semi-detached property in the region will now cost €201,000, up €55,000 from last year.
The SCSI however, says the latest figures do not relate to Mica affected properties.
It says the cost differences are down to the redress scheme being based on pre-2007 regulations and standards and that it does not take into account, replacing foundations and cost inflation.
