Into the West stepping up campaign to re-open North West rail services

A campaign to reopen two key railways in Donegal as part of a wider rail expansion in the North West is gaining momentum ahead of the expected publication early next year of the All-Island Rail review Strategy.

‘Into The West’ is holding a series of meetings, starting next week in Derry and Letterkenny, with a view towards ensuring that once the strategy is published, there’s a strong and well supported campaign already in place in Donegal, Derry, Tyrone and Fermanagh.

In the Dail last month, Taoiseach Michael Martin said the highest number of submissions to the strategy came from the North West.

Steve Bradley of Into the West says it’s important to start the conversation now……..
