12th arrest made in relation to Caldwell shooting

A 23 year old man remains in custody this morning in relation to the attempted murder of police officer John Caldwell.

He was arrested in Derry yesterday, in connection with the claim of responsibility by the New IRA for the shooting last month.

He’s being questioned in Belfast, under the Terrorism Act.

Detective Chief Inspector Caldwell remains in a critical condition after being shot multiple times at a sports complex outside Omagh.

This is the twelfth arrest in relation to the incident, but no one has yet been charged.
