‘Farmers Alliance’ given approval to be registered

A political party called the ‘Farmers Alliance’ has been given approval by the Electoral Commission to be registered.

It will become officially Ireland’s 29th political party after three weeks if there are no objections.

It was founded by a Donegal sheep farmer, Liam McLaughlin.

In the past the group said its intention is to fight on behalf of everybody – not just farmers.
