Speeding motorists will be targeted by Gardaí as part of the latest National Slow Down Day which began at 7 this morning.
The Garda operation will centre on high visibility speed enforcement across the country’s road network.
Already this year 63 people have died in road traffic collisions.
Last year saw 184 road deaths, 19% increase on the year before.
