Red warning ahead of Storm Eowyn saved lives – Taoiseach

Taoiseach Michael Martin says there is no doubt that the Red Weather warning issued ahead of Storm Eowyn saved lives.

Answering questions from a number of TDs, including South Donegal Deputy Eamon Scanlon, Michael Martin said the death of a 20 year old Kacper Dudek after a tree fell on his car was a tragedy.

However, he said the situation could have been much worse.

The Taoiseach repeated that all aspects of the response to the storm are being reviewed to see what lessons can be learned……………
